Dr. Maureen Sutter (formerly Reynolds) graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. After completing an ambulatory internship at the prestigious Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, she began working for the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission and covered several high-stakes races (including the 2009 Kentucky Derby). In 2010, she was given the opportunity to return home to Kansas and continue her passion for helping animals and their owners.
Dr. Sutter is an active member of numerous professional associations. She is on a Practice Owner Task Force for AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners), as well as an attendee at one of their leadership training programs. Her service to KVMA (Kansas Veterinary Medical Association) involves being on the Board of Directors as a District Director of Equine from 2019 to present. Furthermore, she is on the Board of Directors for the Kansas Equine Practitioner’s Group, where she has served as Committee Vice Chairman and Committee Chairman. IVCA (International Veterinary Chiropractic Association) has used her expertise in chiropractic care by having her proctor the IVCA Practical Exam on several occasions.
Dr. Sutter purchased Red Oak Animal Hospital from Dr. Todd Welsh in January 2021. She and her husband currently live on a small farm in Paola with their two dogs, three horses, and two cats.
Melinda has been a veterinary technician for 13 years. She has been at Red Oak since December 2019, and has worked with both large and small animals. She enjoys trail riding, and is the owner of horses, dogs, cats, and goats.
Ally started as a receptionist at Red Oak Animal Hospital in November of 2021. She has worked with large and small animals for the last 10 years and enjoys learning about how to care for them. She and her husband, Ben, have 3 horses and 8 dogs that keep them busy with their daily shenanigans. When not at the clinic, Ally is spending time with her animals, taking naps, and working around the farm.
Nikki started with Red Oak Animal Hospital in September of 2015. Nikki has rotated between the doctors to assist with small animal and equine. Along with many others at the clinic, she owns 2 horses and 2 dogs. If not in the clinic, she is either riding her horses or spending time with her family. If you have met Nikki before, you know she has a very unique sounding voice that we all love!
Born on a Broodmare farm in Kentucky, Boots, has lived in a variety of locations including Freeman, Springhill, Paola and now resides in our Red Oak Animal Hospital. He is a great hunter and specializes as an emotional support cat for our Equine patients and guests. He is a loving member of our ROAH Family.
Baby joined the staff at Red Oak Animal Hospital in 2011. She spends her time supervising the daily comings and goings of the hospital. She enjoys naps in the sun, kitty snacks and playing (until she doesn’t want to any more). Her favorite person in the world visits her daily when he comes to pick up our UPS packages.
Stephanie Scott grew up in Peculiar, Missouri. She joined Red Oak in March 2016 and has been a part of the team since. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, and her many animals. She currently resides in Creighton, Missouri with her four horses, two cats, and three dogs.
Megan grew up all over (New York, England, Australia, and Kansas), but is a Kansas girl at heart. She currently lives in Olathe with her dog, Madeye Moody. In her free time she loves reading and riding her horse! She joined Red Oak in March of 2022 and is excited to work with your families!
Cara joined the staff at Red Oak Animal Hospital as a receptionist in April 2022. Cara grew up as a military kid and has traveled the country with her parents, previously stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas as a child. She has come full circle and currently lives in Olathe with her husband and three kids. She enjoys spending time with her family, good food, and taking the kids to the movies! Cara and her family are enjoying the community and looking forward to getting a puppy of their own.
Wendy graduated from the Maple Woods Veterinary Technology program in 2001. She has worked in the veterinary field since 1995 at a Cat Clinic in Oklahoma and has worked in cat practice in the metro area for 15 years before starting work at Red Oak in March of 2015 as the Office Manager.
Wendy and her husband, Ivan, have 4 children-Hannah, Cameron, Alex and Aaron. Cats are her favorite animals and she has 3: Bella, Minnie and Midnight. She also has 3 Grandcats: Cleo, Fergus and Willow. In her spare time she enjoys storm chasing with her family.
Ann grew up on a cattle farm in Garden City, MO. She had her own bottle calf which started her career in grooming. While the calf was little, Ann would bathe and brush her. From there she started bathing and trimming the nails of her cats. When she got her second dog, Lilo, Ann started learning how to shave because she was a long coat breed. She has been a home groomer for about 6 years and a professional groomer for one of those years. Ann started to learn how to properly groom in April of 2021 and graduated from the grooming academy in August 2021. She has a beautiful boy named Felix, 2 dogs, a snake and a fish. In her free time she loves creative grooming, painting, hiking and road trips. She currently resides in Cleveland, MO
Tristin came to Red Oak Animal Hospital in July of 2022. She previously worked at a specialty and emergency hospital for 10 years. There she worked in emergency, critical care, and was an ICU technician for 4 years. In 2020 she went to work at another local general practice. She came to Red Oak to be closer to home and to learn more from small and large animal practice. Outside of work, Tristin owns a small hobby farm with her fiancé; Wes, called T&W Farms. Together they raise dairy and meat goats each spring. They also have 12 dogs, 3 horses, a donkey, ducks, chickens and turkeys! When she can get away, Tristin and Wes enjoy pleasure riding with their horses or taking their camper to the lake.
