|Todd Welsh, D.V.M.
Dr. Welsh graduated from the Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. He is the founder and owner of Red Oak Animal Hospital. Todd has many interests in equine medicine, including reproduction and sport horse lameness/injuries. He has two children, Lindsey and Jacob.
|Maureen Sutter, D.V.M.
Dr. Maureen Sutter (formerly Reynolds) graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. After completing an ambulatory internship at the prestigious Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, she opened her own practice, Sutter Equine, in 2009. During this time, she also worked for the Kentucky State Racing Commission and covered several high stakes races, including the 2009 Kentucky Derby. In 2010, she was given the opportunity to return home to Kansas and continue her passion for helping animals and their owners. She and her husband currently live on a small farm with their three dogs, two horses, and three cats.
|Shelbie Wedel, D.V.M.
Dr. Shelbie Wedel (formerly Martel) grew up in Shawnee, Kansas. She knew she wanted to pursue veterinary medicine at a young age and has always loved small animals and horses. She showed horses in the American Buckskin Registry Association for many years and has a passion for western performance horses. Dr. Wedel graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. She practiced in Missouri for a year following graduation and joined Red Oak in late 2019. She enjoys working with small and large animals and their owners. She currently resides in Paola with her husband, Tyler. Together they have one dog, one cat, four horses and a small herd of cattle.
